It’s already a week since I sent the last newsletter, yet I feel like it was just yesterday. By the way, thank you for all the support.

The Week That Was

I wasn’t sure I should start today’s newsletter. I have written and deleted about 5 introductions but finally here we are. I think I’ll just go straight to my top 5 reads this week that you might have missed.

1. Threads

   I have no doubt that you’ve heard about threads and you’ve already signed up. It has been touted at Twitter 1.0 and twitter Killer and for a good reason. Much as I don’t like Zuck and how Meta uses my data, you have to give it up for the guy. Personally I don’t bet against Zuck. It’s not easy running a company like Meta.

   Anyway, long story short, what stood out was Elon’s response to a certain tweet and I’m not talking about serving META for '“copying” Twitter. I’ll leave it here for you.

2. SemaBox

   If you love podcasts like I do, then the following will excite you. SemaBox, the largest producer of podcasts in Kenya is launching a podcast distribution platform on July 12. SemaBox has recorded over 800 episodes of different podcasts and has worked with Google and UNIDO just to name but a few.

3. AIFLUENCE

   You’ve probably never heard of them but Aifluence is Africa’s first AI powered influencer marketing platform. With many companies looking for different ways of marking their products and services, Aifluence has positioned itself perfectly through using Ai to help business do exactly that.

   They recently won the 2023 Kenyan Visa Everywhere Initiative (VIE) award.

4. AIRTEL 5G

   I could say a lot about the launch of Airtel 5G network but that is not necessary. Moses has done a splendid job in this article highlighting the differences between the Airtel and Safaricom 5G rollouts. Make sure to read it here
